How Pipiro works
-
Import
Bring in recipes from Instagram, TikTok, websites or cookbooks. One clean and beautiful layout: no ads or life stories.
-
Plan
Drop recipes onto the days of the week. Your household sees the same plan, so “what's for dinner?” comes up less often.
-
Shop
Turn the plan or any recipe into a shopping list, grouped by category. The same ingredient from different recipes is added up.
-
Cook
Cook from a screen that stays on, with the ingredients and directions always at hand, so more dishes turn out right the first time.
A giant team of two
Pipiro is made by two people from Vilnius who decided to grow old together.
I'm Jonė, a product designer. A few years ago I quit my job to build something great. It's less glamorous than it sounds. It's only possible because my husband Andrius supports us both.
Pipiro was meant to be a personal tool. But we both wanted to stop working office jobs, and so far only I have managed it. We think that, in exchange for something genuinely useful, getting Andrius out too is a very fair deal. So we're sharing Pipiro with you.
As you may have noticed, we're very open. We want the products we make to be built on the same openness and honesty. We believe we can succeed without pushy marketing, hidden prices or manipulation.
If you write to us, one of us writes back.
Questions, answered
What is Pipiro?
Pipiro is a recipe app for iPhone and Android that lets you import recipes from all kinds of places, online and off. Save recipes from TikTok, Instagram or a website, photograph your notes or a recipe from a cookbook, and Pipiro turns them into a tidy, easy-to-read recipe you can find in seconds and cook from with ease.
You can sort recipes into collections, plan the week and build shopping lists. Pipiro also lets you share recipes, shopping lists and the weekly plan with a household of up to five people for free, and offers a shared plan without limits for those who cook together.
Where can Pipiro import recipes from?
From Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube and Pinterest, from food blogs and recipe websites, and from paper: cookbooks, photos and notebooks. Anything else you can add by hand.
How does importing a recipe from a video work?
Give Pipiro the link to the video. It reads what the post makes public, and an AI model turns that into a tidy recipe: ingredients, quantities, steps. You can always edit the recipes you import.
What happens if the source recipe disappears?
Nothing - it stays in your library. Pipiro saves the recipe's text to your account at the moment you import it, not a link back to the original, so a post or page being deleted later doesn't touch your saved copy.
Is Pipiro free?
Pipiro is free to download and to use. Every month the free plan includes 5 recipe imports (plus 5 more once you sign in) and 5 nutrition calculations. Adding recipes by hand is never limited.
A monthly or yearly subscription makes imports unlimited, and a household plan covers everyone you cook with.
Can I share recipes with my family?
Yes. Pipiro has a household feature that lets a group of up to five people share one recipe library, shopping lists and the weekly meal plan, for free.
Is it legal to save other people's recipes?
Yes. A list of ingredients and the steps to cook them are generally not protected by copyright, and keeping a recipe for your own use is legal. Pipiro doesn't publish your recipes: your library is visible only to you and your household.
Photos are a different matter: they are protected by copyright. If you share a recipe with others, make sure its photo is yours to share.
What happens to my recipes if I cancel my subscription?
They stay. Your account goes back to the free plan and its monthly limits, and everything you have saved is still yours to cook from and edit.
